I need to meet up with someone in the area of Quezon Avenue on a Sunday and coincidentally enough it is a stone throws away from croughnuts heaven better known as Dolcelatte Cafe and Gourmet Bakeshop .
If you have been living under a rock for the past year, Croughnuts are a hybrid between a donuts and croissants. They were invented by a chef in New York City, shortly after that the Pinoy versions have been showing up in the Philippines.

So I go in this awesome Bakeshop that is located almost hidden in Quezon City! It kinda reminds me of a restaurant inside a 5 star hotel. They also serve awesome pasta and specialty dishes.

I bought home a box of 6 variant.

I was there around 10 am, There were a lot of of flavors to choose from. The shelves were full. Some of the friends ask me if I reserved them before hand and that puzzled me. It seems that that is what one does when one wants a taste of croughnuts, you need to order them before hand. You can’t just walk in and buy them. So I really feel lucky to have scored these delectable treats.

My first impression of them is they seem like donuts but NOT because have this soft flakey texture. They taste like cake but are NOT. I love that the are filling and one croughnuts and keep you satisfied like a large slice of cake.

Will I go seek them out again? Maybe when I am in the area.

Until next time!
